III. Background

North Georgia GYN came into existence in March 2006 after much consideration and prayer. Since 1993, Dr. James Haley had been part of a seven member OB/GYN group in Rome, which later became part of a large multi-specialty clinic. In his last few years there, he began to witness more and more of the problems that often accompanies being affiliated with a very large clinic. Although there were some benefits to this type of practice, he realized he could not provide the type of personal, quality care that he felt his patients needed, and deserved. At the same time, he began to feel strongly that God was calling him out in a different direction. It became apparent to him that he was to leave this larger group setting, open up his own GYN practice, and fulfill his calling. He felt led to visit the Acworth area, and after doing so, knew immediately this is where he was supposed to be. It was also obvious that the women in this area were very underserved in GYN services. Since then, God has enabled Dr. Haley to assemble an office team of caring and compassionate Christian women to serve the patients of North Georgia GYN.

In 2011, Dr. Haley decided to open up a second location for his practice in Rome. As he continued to have previous patients come to see him from Rome and the surrounding areas, he opened up this new location to better serve them and their communities. In addition, over time, Dr. Haley's association with Kennestone became less and less tolerable. Not being part of a large group practice, Kennestone was not accommodating at all to him or his patients when they needed surgery. Therefore, he decided to open a second location in Rome, where he could get back to operating at Floyd Medical Center. Dr. Haley has a long association with Floyd, and their care for patients is excellent. He knows for certain Floyd Medical Center provides the kind of care and service for his patients that he feels they need and deserve. Dr. Haley's staff at the Rome location is equally caring and compassionate, and he is very blessed to have such a wonderful Christian staff serving the women of Rome and the surrounding area.
